Biofeedback

A technique, which teaches the control over muscle tension, hand temperature, blood pressure etc is known as “biofeedback”. This control is only achieved through focusing and modifying nerve impulses in your body. This techniques can be employed for helping people to change their way of responding to different conditions and situations such as anxiety, stress, chronic pain etc. this techniques generally is taught by a professional for health care that has specialized in the implementation of techniques with other clinical requirements.

This technique has been used for the first time in 1940s but it became popular by 1969. This technique is used to change the activities of involuntary nervous systems like heartbeat, blood pressure and muscle tension. This is done by changing the process of thought and later the psychological responses are altered.

First of all the biofeedback was not much appreciated and their were some issues regarding this but later on till now it has become one of the most influential technique to help patients out. Today this technique is accepted at universal scale and is used widely.

This technique is considered more helpful in conditions, which involve muscle tension. This is an effectual therapy for anxiety and stress reduction and national Institute of health is of the view that this therapy is beneficial for treating insomnia and chronic pain. This therapy is supported by other treatments for specified ailments.

Studies and experiments conducted on patients have revealed that, there are some one fifty disorders and disease that can be treated with biofeedback application, further experiments are adding to this list.
